Duathlon Volunteer Information
A huge thank you for volunteering your time to help make this Sunday’s Auckland City Tri Club Duathlon a success! We couldn’t run this event without you.
On the day
Key Details
Set-up crew: Please arrive from 6:00am.
Marshals (and those not on set-up): Please be onsite by 7:45am for the volunteer briefing.
On arrival: Head to the Manukau Yacht Club building to check in. You’ll receive your vest, flags, and anything else you need. The volunteer briefing will also be held there.
First Jobs of the Day
Transition team: Setting up the transition area.
Run and bike teams: Marking out and preparing the courses.
On the Day
Lunch provided – please let us know if you are vegetarian or gluten free.
Hot drink voucher – bring a reusable cup if you can, as this is a zero waste event in line with council requirements. Bring a water bottle too
Clothing: we'll provide a hi-vis vest but comfortable shoes and warm clothes are a great idea.
Parking – please do not park on the course. Use nearby side streets, or limited parking may be available at the Ambury Park entrance (gate times to be confirmed).
Your Role
Whether you are marshalling, helping at transition, registration, or course set-up – your mahi is vital in keeping athletes safe and giving them the best possible experience.
Tips
🚲🚶 Course Notes
Remind residents who need vehicle access to:
Turn on hazard lights.
Drive max 25km/h (cyclists in both directions).
Exit the course as soon as possible.
Public are still using some paths — be courteous and keep everyone safe
👍 Tips for Volunteers
Gloves are handy for bike rack set-up.
Mountain bikes or folding chairs can make it easier to get to/around your position

Please stay in position until race control confirms all races are complete
