Opportunities for Juniors
Our main focus for Juniors is for them to have fun with others whilst building skills and experience.
There are plenty of training and racing opportunities with a view of representing your School, Auckland City Tri Club or even New Zealand.
There are three FREE training sessions each week with the ACTC Monday Night Run Club with Liam Bird, Friday Morning Intervals and on Saturday Mornings TeamSesto have their weekly Brick.
We have our Junior Development Training Session Holiday Program in April/July/September on the mornings of the first Thursday/Friday of the School Holidays. We are very pleased to welcome Liam Bird and Sophie Spencer as Coaches for these sessions. Next Sessions July School Holidays 30 Jun-01 Jul. See details below.
We are thrilled to announce that we now have an ACTC monthly Junior Training Session to get juniors together more often for some consistent training. Next Session 12 July 2025. See details below.

The next Monthly ACTC Junior Training Session is
12 July 2025 at Mangere Bridge
These sessions are held to give junior athletes even more opportunity in their training.
$10 for Members $15 for Non-Members
The sessions will be starting at 2pm, running through to 4pm.
We have also locked in the date of the 2nd August for the August training session as we want to give loads of notice.

The next ACTC Junior Development Holiday Training Sessions are
30 Jun - 01 Jul 2025
Junior Development Training to be held as part of the school holidays in July 2025. We are planning two days of training and skills development, to help take your triathlon to the next level. The sessions will be starting at 9am, running through to 12 noon. We have Liam Bird and Sophie Spencer locked in for these sessions.

College Sport Auckland
College Sport Auckland’s vision is that sport is valued as a vehicle for enhancing the wellbeing of all secondary school students in Auckland. Triathlon, Aquathon and Duathlon run events annually College Sport Auckland Series.
Peoples Triathlon Series
Auckland's longest running triathlon series with the last race of the series being the official club champs. A great chance for Juniors to build and test their racing skills. https://peoplestri.co.nz
Kohi Summer Swim Series
NZ's largest weekly summer open water swim right in our backyard. A great opportunity for Juniors to test their open water swimming skills against other triathletes and specialist swimmers. Members get a discounted entry for this series. https://www.summerswim.co.nz
Resources for Primary School Age - Water, Wheels, Fun!
Water, Wheels, Fun! is a school-based programme designed to introduce Triathlon to primary school students, with opportunities to then have a go at a local kids Triathlon event. It’s a fun way to be creative, keep active, and grow stronger together all while achieving the objectives of the New Zealand Curriculum.
Resources for Intermediate/Secondary School
Whether it’s eSport, a local Triathlon event, or the official New Zealand Schools event, there are many opportunities to be involved in Triathlon for intermediate and high school students as a one-off experience or through our Secondary Schools Programme. Ride with rangatahi from around NZ and the world in the Youth eSport Series, enter an event with your mates as a team, or grow your swim, bike and run skills to complete one yourself! Pathways and Triathlon New Zealand Development Squad
Take it to the next level. If you are wanting to hone your triathlon skills, race at a more elite level, or find out how to get selected for development squads then make sure to enter the Tri NZ Suzuki Junior Series happening this summer. Three races across both islands make up the series, with the top 2 races counting toward the overall series champion. This series is to open to both under 16 and under 19 athletes and has been created to encourage the development of our promising athletes and celebrate their successes. Who can be an ACTC Junior?
Juniors have to be U22 on the 01st November (the first date of the new Membership Period).
